From first call to launch, and after.

Five stages, from the first call to long after launch. At each one you know what’s happening, what you’ll get and what we need from you.

StagesTalk · Design · Build · Launch · Support

What happens,
and when.

The same five stages for every project, whether it’s a one-page site or a web app. Only the size of each stage changes.

  1. Brief and scope

A short call or a few emails about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do.

    You get

    • A written scope: what’s included, and what isn’t
    • A fixed price and a realistic timeline
    • An NDA first, if you need one

    We need from you

    • Your goals, and who your customers are
    • Sites you like, and ones you don’t
    • Any deadline we should know about
  2. Structure, then design

Page plans and wireframes settle the structure. Full designs follow, and you review each stage before the next one starts.

    You get

    • A page plan, or user flows for an app
    • Wireframes of the key pages
    • Full designs for phone and desktop

    We need from you

    • Feedback at each stage
    • Your logo, brand colors and any photos
    • Your copy, or time for a call if we’re writing it
  3. Build and test

It’s built and tested on phones, tablets and desktops. A live link lets you click through the real thing while it comes together.

    You get

    • A live preview link, early on
    • A CMS you can edit, set up for your content
    • SEO basics built in as we go

    We need from you

    • A click through the preview, and what you notice
    • Access to any tools we’re connecting to
    • Sign-off on the final content
  4. Launch and handover

It goes live on your domain, every link and form is checked, and your team learns how to run it.

    You get

    • Launch on your domain, with old links redirected
    • Analytics set up from day one
    • A walkthrough for your team, and everything handed over

    We need from you

    • Access to your domain and hosting
    • A go-live date that suits you
  5. Support after launch

Need a fix, an update or a new page? It goes to the same people who built the site.

    You get

    • Help from the people who built it
    • A support plan if you want one: updates, backups and checks
    • SEO or new features, when you’re ready for them

    We need from you

    • Tell us what you need, when you need it

Process FAQ

Questions about
working with us.

Something else on your mind? Email us and you’ll hear from the people who’d do the work.

How involved do I need to be?

Most at the start and at each review: a kick-off call, feedback on the plan and the designs, and a look at the live preview. We’ll tell you up front when we need you, so you can plan around it.

Who will I be talking to?

The people designing and building your project. There are no account managers in between.

What if I want to change something during the project?

Tell us. If a change would add to the agreed scope, we quote it before we do it, so the price never changes without your say.

What do I get at the end?

The code, design files and content, plus the logins for your CMS and hosting. The domain stays in your name, and there are no license fees.

Can you sign an NDA before we talk details?

Yes. Send us yours, or we’ll send ours, before you share anything confidential.

What happens after launch?

You can message us whenever you need a fix, an update or a new page. If you’d rather not think about it, a support plan covers updates, backups and checks every month.

Tell us what you’re building.

A few lines about the project are enough. You’ll hear back from the people who’d do the work, with a fixed quote to follow. Rather talk first? Pick a time that suits you.
